Our Mission

To feed and empower those we serve to move beyond the lines of poverty.

Taking Poverty Personally Our Programs Focus on:

education

Is needed to move past generational poverty and pull communities forward. Beyond hunger relief, The River Fund provides nutritional education.

food

Our “client choice” food pantry—one that allows clients to select the items they want and use, rather than just receive a bag of random goods.

We take at-risk kids off the streets

In summer, apart from free vacations, we take at-risk 13 to 18-year-olds off the streets by enrolling them in our 18-team basketball tournament, hosted by our own team, The River Fund Cobras.

About Our Board

Our team is made up of “community members who are determined against all odds to care for other community members”—and our motivation comes from a deep-seated awareness of what we’re up against: Fighting poverty is a war.
